I’ve been playing the saxophone since 1986, and am a passionate and dedicated performer and educator with experience in all styles of music, including classical, jazz, rock, and funk. I strive to ignite the same passion in my students of all ages and skill levels as well as the general audience members who attend performances. I genuinely love what I do and have a hard time imagining doing something else.
I have a varied background in professional performing, and I use these experiences everyday while working with students. I strive to perform music for the real world; music that all people can enjoy, but music that is still thought-provoking and unique. I love to educate general audiences about the classical saxophone world and the saxophone’s capabilities in all styles of music.
My teaching philosophy is that if you can dream it, you can do it. A bit cliché, I know, but I was able to achieve several of my musical goals by first setting them, and then working really hard to realize those goals. I try to instill the same kind of dedication, passion, and work ethic in all of my students.
